I loved thy creation, hence I created thee.
Wherefore, do thou love Me, that I may name thy name
and fill thy soul with the spirit of life."

Explore the Bahá'í Writings

The Bahá'í Faith has a vast corpus of Scripture revealed by its Central Figures. These writings address the individual soul, society, and humanity's collective destiny.

Bahá'u'lláh

"Blessed is he who, in the prime of his youth and the heyday of his life, will arise to serve the Cause of the Lord of the beginning and of the end."

'Abdu'l-Bahá

"The light of a good character surpasseth the light of the sun and the radiance thereof."

The Báb

"O Thou Remnant of God! I have sacrificed myself wholly for Thee; I have accepted curses for Thy sake, and have yearned for naught but martyrdom in the path of Thy love."

What Is the Bahá'í Faith?

The Bahá'í Faith is the world's newest independent world religion, founded in 19th-century Persia by Bahá'u'lláh (1817–1892). With more than 5 million followers across nearly every country on earth, it teaches the oneness of God, the unity of religion, and the oneness of humanity.

Central to Bahá'í life is the practice of prayer, meditation, and the study of sacred Scripture. The Bahá'í Writings encompass the revealed Word of Bahá'u'lláh, the interpretations of His son 'Abdu'l-Bahá, and the letters of Shoghi Effendi and the Universal House of Justice.

A Sacred Space for Daily Listening

Bahji — named after the estate in Akka, Israel where Bahá'u'lláh spent His final years and where His sacred shrine stands — is a free, independent devotional resource for those who wish to begin each day with the Word of God.

Each clip features a passage from the Bahá'í Writings read aloud with care and reverence, following the ancient tradition of intoning scripture — a practice enjoined by Bahá'u'lláh Himself so that "the sweetness of thy melody may kindle thine own soul."
